چکیده

We study a simple model for a neuron function in a collective brain system. The neural network is composed of uncorrelated random scale-free network for eliminating the degree correlation of dynamical processes. The interaction of neurons is supposed to be isotropic and idealized. This neuron dynamics is similar to biological evolution in extremal dynamics with isotropic locally interaction but has different time scale. The evolution of neuron spike takes place according to punctuated patterns similar to the avalanche dynamics. We find that the evolutionary dynamics of this neuron function exhibit self-organized criticality which shows power-law behavior of the avalanche sizes. For a given network, the avalanche dynamic behavior is not changed with different degree exponents of networks, γ ≥ 2.4 and refractory time correspondent to the memory effect, Tr. In addition, the avalanche size distributions exhibit the power-law behavior in a single scaling region in contrast to other networks. However, the return time distributions displaying spatiotemporal complexity have three characteristic time scaling region.

Cascading toppling dynamics on scale-free networks

We study avalanche dynamics on scale-free networks, following a power-law degree distribution, pd ðkÞ k ; through the Bak–Tang–Wiesenfeld sandpile model. The threshold height of a node i is set to be k 1 Z i with 0pZo1: We obtain the exponents for the avalanche size and the duration distributions analytically as a function of g and Z by using the branching process approach. The analytic solutio...

APPLICATIONS OF PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS IN STABILITY INDEX AND CRITICAL LENGTH IN AVALANCHE DYNAMICS

In this study, Stability analysis of snow slab which is under detonation has developed in the present model. The model has been studied by using the basic concepts of non-detonation model and concepts of underwater explosions with appropriate modifications to the present studies. The studies have also been extended to account the effect of critical length variations at the time of detonation an...

Estimating river suspended sediment yield using MLP neural network in arid and semi-arid basins Case study: Bar River, Neyshaboor, Iran

Abstract Erosion and sedimentation are the most complicated problems in hydrodynamic which are very important in water-related projects of arid and semi-arid basins. For this reason, the presence of suitable methods for good estimation of suspended sediment load of rivers is very valuable. Solving hydrodynamic equations related to these phenomenons and access to a mathematical-conceptual mode...

Avalanch Zoning Using Artificial Neural Network (MLP) Models (Case Study: Mountainous Area of North Alborz Province)

Avalanche is one of a variety of mass movements that refers to the rapid movement of masses of snow in the direction of slope gradient. Avalanche drives in addition to snow, rock and soil and plant and damage the communication lines, buildings and power lines on the way to the avalanche. In this research, domains with avalanche potential were zoned using artificial neural network model (MLP). I...

Response of degree-correlated scale-free networks to stimuli.

The response of degree-correlated scale-free attractor networks to stimuli is studied. We show that degree-correlated scale-free networks are robust to random stimuli as well as the uncorrelated scale-free networks, while assortative (disassortative) scale-free networks are more (less) sensitive to directed stimuli than uncorrelated networks. We find that the degree correlation of scale-free ne...
